This is an antique tile with a pearl ware tin glaze of a flow blue hand painted castle design made 1850-1870s.

The pretty tile measures 4.5 inches square and features a castle on a river and is made of tin glazed pottery.

The tile photo does not accurately show the bluish tinge to the white.

Although I found it in England I am unsure if it was made there or in Austria or Germany.

The tile was obviously previously used in a fireplace surround or other tiling use.

The tile face is in very good ++ used vintage condition with 2 glaze dimples from manufacturing, some minor edge chipping. The back has mortar residue.

A wonderful antique architectural element.

Very decorative. Could also be used as a trivet or a tea tile.
