This is a lovely Edwardian English silverplate basket on a pedestal that measures 7 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches high.

The silver mesh pedestal comport bowl is a calling card, candy, cake or bon bon basket.

The silver calling card basket is marked with a hand, M and London which is the mark for M. Hand, London and dates to the Edwardian era 1900-1910.

The cake or card basket has a raised grape border, a mesh basket and a wreath with a ribbon applied to the center of the interior. A very elegant piece.
