This is an antique mid Victorian EAPG, or Early American Pattern Glass celery vase of flint glass in the Loop or O'Hara pattern and Tulip shape made 1850-1860s by the Boston And Standard Glass Company, USA.
The celery vase or jar measures 8 inches high and is 5.5 inches in diameter.
The celery vase is in excellent used antique condition with no chips or cracks.
A wonderful survival and example of the table ware Victorians reveled in.
Celery jars or vases are most often seen in glass, but there are china ones as well. The victorians, with their love for gadgets, came up with the celery jar to keep celery crisp. Today they are also used as decorative flower vases. Lovely!
