This is a pair of brown transferware cereal bowls or soup bowls in the hand colored on transfer design called Olde English Countryside by Johnson Brothers, England in the 1970s.
The square ironstone soup bowls measure 1.75 inches high by 6.25 inches in diameter and feature a typical English village street scene in brown and white with hand colored accents.
Hand coloring make these special as no two are the same, being individually painted by artists.
The bowls were made in England between 1974 and 1983 when the mark changed and some production was moved to Asia.
The soup bowl or soup plate is in in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips, cracks or wear.
Such a pretty and nostalgic pattern from a wonderful maker!
