This is a beautiful set of 4 antique Nippon period Japanese pedestal salt dips, open salt dishes or salt cellars made in the 1890-1920s with hand applied gold moriage beading.
The porcelain open salts are eound with a pedestal and with pale yellow bands, and hand colored pale green and peach leaves that look like Irish shamrocks. There is gold accenting and gold beading borders and trim.
The lovely antique open salts measure over 1.5 inches high and 2.15 inches in diameter.
The salts are in excellent used vintage condition with no chips or cracks, with only some minor pattern wear, and lot damage to the gold beading.
Beautiful, very collectible and so versatile! Great for rings, paper clips, sauces, teabags etc, as well as for salt on the table.
