Crown Staffordshire Candle Holder Pair Flowers Vintage Hand Made 1940s Romantic Tea Party
SKU:
This is a matching pair of Crown Staffordshire, England bone china candle holders by made in the 1940s in a hand made form called Staffordshire posy flowers.
The 2 pale yellow candleholders each measure 2.5 inches high by 3.5 inches in diameter and are each adorned with 3 hand made bone china roses.
I have seen this done at a factory and talk about labor intensive! Starting with a lump of bone china clay, they are hand rolled, formed, assembled, fired, painted and refired. Almost all of the factories that did this have closed so this art is no longer done except in a few museums and historical potteries.
The candle holders have scalloped rims and gold trim and are in very good +++ condition. The only flaw are 3 tiny petal rim chips. They are really beautiful and what workmanship!
