This is an antique English silver plated sugar sifting spoon made 1910-1920s and brought home from Cornwall, England recently.
The pierced sugar sifting spoon is 5.5 inches long with a 1.75 inch in diameter bowl pierced with tear or paisley shaped holes and a fancy foliage handle.
The sugar sifting spoon is in very good +++ condition and is a beautiful asset for the tea table.
Sugar sifting spoons were developed to sift the crushed sugar available before modern granulated or powdered sugar onto tea time muffins, crumpets or pancakes.
