This is a pair of antique Edwardian era English silver plate cutlery rests or holders made like a turned stair balustrade with a ball ended design like an Edwardian bath tap or faucet made in the 1900-1910s.
The knife rests are marked by Henry Wilkinsons & Company, Ltd., Sheffield with the mark for 1890-1910s.
Each silver plated knife rests measures 3.5 inches long and are 1 inches high and wide.
The antique cutlery rests are in very good +++ used vintage condition with no plate loss but could use a bit of a polish.
A great item of kitchenalia as well as a wonderful way to keep your table cloth clean by supporting your knife.
Knife rests are enjoying a renaissance for use on dining tables, tea tables...I have even supplied knife rests for use at sommelier tables!
