This is a 1940s red transferware open salt, salt dip or salt dish made by Enoch Woods, England in the Woods Ware line and English Scenery pattern.

The ironstone rural scene open salt dip measures 1 inch high by 3 inches in diameter.

The salt dish is in very excellent used vintage condition with no chips or cracks.

A very pretty pattern and very collectible.  

These also make great teabag caddies, individual butter dishes or individual cream or lemon curd servers. So elegant!
