There is no stopper. I brought it home from England recently but it was made in Japan for the English market in the 1920-1930s.

The muffineer measures 5 inches high, 2.5 inches square at bottom and is in very good condition with no chips or cracks but has some crazing. It would be a lovely accent to any table or shelf or use it.

Sugar shakers or muffineers were a victorian table item used to shake sugar on muffins (hence the name) pancakes or crumpets at the tea table.
