Vintage Tea Strainer Over The Cup Strainer Turning Windmill 1940s Silverplate Dutch
SKU:
This is a wonderful vintage 1940s silver plated tea strainer with a turning windmill finial at the top of the handle, made to go over a teacup to strain out the leaves as loose tea is poured from the teapot.
The tea strainer measures overall 5 inches long and the strainer basket measures 2.75 inches in diameter. The strainer has a very pretty foliate designed edge and a figural windmill handle with a riveted mechanical turning bladed windmill.
The tea strainer is marked with a crown and 90 which is found on silver from Germany and the Netherlands, and with the windmill I am assuming it is Dutch, although it was acquired in England in the 1970s.
The pretty and novel tea strainer and is in very good +++ used vintage condition, and shows almost no plate loss.
Useful gadget and a very fun accessory for the perfect cup of tea! Great as a hostess or other gift too!
